I love using that pre-transition photo because it is a perfect encapsulation of how drunk I was at all times between 2007 and 2015, and the other is almost 5 years sober and 4 years into Alice.

People bemoan mold reuse. For someone like me, who didn't start collecting until 3 years ago, getting a shot at these older figures, in a style that looks like they stepped out of the TV show, I'll never complain about that.
This makes me want to track down Red Alert, Tigertrack, and Deep Cover.

Sideswipe's alt-mode is a Lamborghini Countach LP500S.
As a girl who grew up in the 1980s, this was *the* car to covet. The epitome of luxury, fast af cars. As soon as it was transformed, I was rolling it around my desk, making vroom-vroom, peeling out car noises.
One thing I have noticed with often used mold is how the plastic changes over time. All my Siege-era figures are sturdy and can withstand the conversion process.
The plastic on Sideswipe feels... not cheap, but lesser than what I would expect. Right away, a bit crumbled with very little resistance.
On to the conversion.
This. Is. So. Much. Fun!
I did not have to follow the guide at all. I could easily see where and how parts flipped and folded. Sideswipe is *incredibly* compact.
It's all so neat and tidy.
My biggest problem is how wide the figure is.
It does not lend itself to a lot of poseability, as the hood/chest locks off the head and the arms. All my pictures have to be top down. Anything lower, well, you can see anything over the chest.
Sideswipe's head sculpt is a 10 out of 10. There's so much life and personality and texture to the face.
Right off the bat, I love this.
I can see right away the shininess of this figure. This has the cel-shading that all the Transformers had in the game, and this looks great. The clear window never looked good to me, so getting these painted make the Studio Series bots look so clean.
