Met a group from Scotland by the Eiffel Tower the other day and they asked where I was from. “America, unfortunately right now” got a good laugh from them. Of course I had to follow up with “Chicago,” just in case

An update: The serval still has not been captured. The owner bought it in West Virginia. It’s been living in an apartment for the past two weeks after being purchased. Surprisingly, servals are not included under the term “dangerous animals” with Illinois state law.
