There's a live cover of the Modern Lovers's "Pablo Picasso" on here. This is not an unknown recording... but it's new to me!
Sounds a bit like mud, but fun nonetheless.
Listening to this new collection of old Talking Heads material. Some of it is quite exciting!!

The things we lost when we lost UHF.
THE DAILY ZIG is back with the boldest episode yet, in which Brian and Jordan reveal how they are kinda-sorta in the Epstein Files (not in a bad way!!) and also discuss the end of Creamed Spinach.

Question for #jazzsky:
Am I a total psycho if I say that sometimes I think I prefer V.S.O.P. to the Second Miles Quintet?
I accept your condemnation.

ye olde @archive.org has just acquired a major VHS stash of friars club roasts, which sounds like an adventure that's just starting. (@textfiles.com is also looking for some patrons to support the project.)
They made Hal Jordan a Guy Gardner! I am intrigued ...
A photo of a spectacled bear approaching the viewer. The animal is stocky with black fur. Its face is marked with gold, the pattern of which somewhat resembles a pair of spectacles.
Meet the spectacled bear! Also known as the Andean bear, itβs distinguished by the glasses-shaped marking on its face. An inhabitant of the tropical Andes, itβs currently the only extant bear species in South America.

As I no longer have a valid New York State I.D., I can no longer pay what I wish to go to the Met Museum. (Preposterous that Plattsburgh and Buffalo get in, but I, who can get NYC radio, get hosed.)
The question: when I text @mattsinger.bsky.social in 2 mins to save me $29.95, will he do it?
Unlike the Belucci's/Andrew Belucci's schism of Astoria, Queens, the Federici's/Frankie Fed's dyad of Freehold, NJ seems to be an amicable independent expansion of the family trade. Good vibes prevail at both establishments. Whereas the Astoria Pizza War actually led someone to an early grave.
One of Danny Roseβs clients.
Frankie Fedβs thin crust. Not as good as the original Federiciβs but close! Waitstaff rules there. This was the garlic-mushroom-sausage pie. There were no leftovers.
Really The Blues by Mezz Mezzrow & Bernard Wolfe
finally read this astonishing 1946 memoir by mezz mezzrow, early white jazz musician, louis armstrong's weed dealer, & namesake of the mighty mezz strain, which somebody should revive. it unexpectedly made a fantastic companion to "shadow ticket" & can't help but wonder if it was source material.
Great news: MY UNDESIRABLE FRIENDS: PART I β LAST AIR IN MOSCOW comes to MUBI on April 3. For a lot of people, this will finally be a chance to see 2025's best film.
(Exception for Chicago)
Why did they continue making fonts after designing DATA 70?
I liked the Human Centipede, but I wish they'd gotten around to making the other films in the series, like the Human Asteroids and the Human Dig-Dug
As I believe I was an A&R man in a prior life, I sometimes fantasize about getting recording artists to cover song.
Today I realized that if The Jerry Garcia Band (not the Grateful Dead) covered Robert Palmer's "Every Kinda People" it would have been perfect.
