Autumn trees are reflected in the greenish water of a pond under a bright blue sky streaked with clouds.

Male and female mallards swim in a pond that is colorful due to fallen autumn leaves floating in the water. One male mallard rises up to flap his wings.

Two clumps of mushrooms grow from the forest floor. They have bright orange stalks and wrinkled, floppy caps that are greenish-black in color.

The green crowns of trees form a circle overhead, with sunshine hitting the leaves and bright blue, cloudless sky visible.

It’s much too warm for November in New England. It’s hard to find solace in nature when I can feel climate change reminding me of how much is at stake today.

But the mountains are beautiful, the mallards are happy, and delightfully weird mushrooms (chicken lips!) grow under blue skies. 🍄📷 🪶 🌿
