Despite having only 15% of the followers on Bluesky, it out-performs the reach, but overall comparable in total. Coz tak uplne neni pravda, protoze to nemuzete udelat bez souhlasu ty puvodni instance se kterou je ta vase identita uz naveky svazana. Ke vsemu Mastodon nenabizi globalni pohled na sit, takze i po tyhle strance se to s nim neda uplne srovnavat...
Nicmene co se tyce toho clanku, tak krome toho ze tam sam autor uvadi, ze je zaujaty priznivce Mastodonu, se kterym se Bluesky neda vubec srovnavat a kdyz uz se o to autor pokousi, tak se dopousti nekolika chyb a zjednoduseni, jako treba ze u Mastodonu muzete taky prejit k jiny instanci...
Jedine, co je v soucasnem navrhu neni decentralizovane a melo by byt, je sprava identit, ale to samo o sobe je dost slozitej problem, kterej by bylo asi nejvhodnejsi resit blockchainem/DLT a jde to udelat i zpetne kompatibilni s uz vytvorenyma identitama...
Pokud tim myslite ty Relaye, tak instance nikdo nenuti pouzivat ten jeden soucasny relay, ale bylo by dost neefektivni, aby si kazda instance udrzovala vlastni relay, protoze by to na ty zdroje dat vytvarelo prilis velkou zatez, pokud budete mit hodne kontaktuna co nejvic instancich...
Pro decentralizaci je totiz hlavni mit decentralizovany zdroj dat a ten decentralizovany je, jen zatim neexistuji nastroje, ktere vam umoznej jednoduchou migraci toho zdroje na ruzne hostingy.
To zalezi jak definujete decentralizovane. Je web decentralizovany? Je. Tak stejne tak je decentralizovany i Bluesky. Vase data muzou byt decentralizovana, ale pokud se rozhodnete ze chcete mit decentralizovane (a sdilene) i jine casti implementace instance (Relay, atp), tak musite jit trochu dal...
Yes, I think this criticisms comes from the understanding that all parts should be decentralized/public good, when in my opinion those relays are mainly part of one implementation and you are free to build your instance (AppView) in a completely different way...
Just ask why on everything that you want and follow the white rabbit ;)
