Great day for the #MoreauLab! Postdoc Tatsuya Inagaki @tatsuyainagaki.bsky.social gave the EEB seminar and we hosted a pre-seminar social insect themed coffee!

Life is amazing.

Eating a plant-based diet, these ants have a gut microbiome which extracts the nutrients used to build their armour....

For ants, you know I was going with @corriemoreau.bsky.social. And for the particular kind of ants, I went with the genus many of us know as pests -- Camponotus. Aka, the carpenter ants.

Did you know that odds are pretty much every ant you've ever seen was a female? 🧪
