Honestly I'm t tired for a fun explanation, but this page is looking dope.
#ReadingGoal update:
I actually got a lot of #Reading done last week, and due to the circumstances of life it ended up being ALL #XMen ALL #ComicBooks
#Marvel must be happy about my buying habits.
The Anti-AI parts of the annual, I'm wondering if I'm the only one who saw it that way though... hmm
I need to post more about stuff other than art, and comics, bit lately that has basically been my personality. That and watching wrestling WHILE drawing.
Just another update on page progress. I love #drawing #comicbooks no matter how slow I am. I need to film some of the process, but I suspect I'll need someone else to film that cuz I can't find a one man set up that I don't immediately block with my big head.
it's my birthday ๐
Here's some #WIP #ComicBook progress for ya, I thi k the #pencildrawing stage is going super well for this page. I still haven't heard f59m #TCAF yet, but I've seen some people have started to get replies. Hoping I get in this year.
Okay folks, time for some #comicbook progress updates: Page 17 is underway, it's gonna be cool. the #pencil stage is ongoing and looking promising. #wip #makingcomics
I finished my latest #arttherapy #monster #portrait #illustration in my #Sketchbook full of monster illustrations. This guy is how my day job has been making me feel over the last two months, head crushed and eyes bleeding.
WOAH! This is amazing and i am envious of that crowd composition.
I have this #sketchbook I specifically draw weird #monster #portrait #illustrations in. I work on it when my emotional or physical state needs to be externalized. Work(day job) has been making me feel a lot of ways lately, so I started up a new monster while watching wrestling.
1) never nice to see anyone injured but also 2) Ishii has a neck? I thought he was impervious to neck injuries because he's a torso with a head directly on it.
I didn't think I'd get back to these kinda of weekly numbers in my #ReadingGoal process again, but 11 finished & some more started but not done is really good!
#ImageComics has me hooked on many books, B&T is heading in weird directions. Adjectiveless #XMen stays one of few #Marvel books I read.
Hey there fellow #artist types, here's a weird #arthack I developed for myself, maybe you've developed it independently too?
Anyways, it's all about making #comicbooks better faster, baby!
do you do things like this too?
As ive grown I've had to shrink my dreams for making com9cs, but I still think if I work hard enough and be interesting enough I can convince Todd McFarlane to let me do something with Spawn.
The ADHD is making focus on one task near impossible today.
Doing some more #XMen catch up and apparently Doug Ramsey is, like me, a fan of the film #Hackers.
#HackThePlanet
To a degree I am surprised that they haven't also signed up Latigo considering he was always part of their travelling group. They were even all in OWE together.
I've started page 17 of Cannibal Crime issue 2.
I can feel myself getting faster, which is hood because that #TCAF deadline is right around the corner.
#comicbooks bring me so much peace.
i am not mistaken, El Clon is Arez correct?
The ways they create shape and form, the ways they lay down textures.
It's also about the consistency of that feel across a run of issues.
The thing is, this has nothing to do with the technical skills of Lailo or Mora, to be perfectly clear. I am not saying they are unskilled in any measure. This is about the feel, the energy, the style, the vibes of the art. This is about my subjective taste. It's about the kinds of lines they make,
Aesthetic cohesion failure is one of the biggest reasons I stop reading series.
Most recently I dropped #Transformers because of this vibe change art team shift. DWJ on art was followed perfectly by Jorge Corona, their styles are like peas in a pod. But then Dan Mora comes on afterwards and ot... just doesn't give me what I want from the book anymore.
I've regularly dropped books for art team changes that didn't feel like they honoured the vibe of what made me pick up the book to begin with.
This is a fill-in, but also the conclusion of a story arc. A better choice should have been made for aesthetic continuity, by editorial.
This isn't about how talented the fill in artist is, it's about the energy of the book and that that is part if why I buy it. Stegman and Diaz are influenced by the 90s, most recently Tony Daniel has been brought on to the book, and he IS 90s talent. Lailo is a mismatch. His style is too "now."
The big flippy book that makes my inked pages look like a #comicbook , lets me see that my trust in my layputs + thumbnails wasn't in vain, always motivates me to keep making #comicbooks. I'm getting closer, but have a mountain to climb still before #TCAF deadlines. Wonder when I'll hear from them.
Going from Netho Diaz to Ryan Stegman and back is great because they're in alignment om vibe + aesthetics, going from Diaz to Stegman to Emilio Laiso just doesn't work. It's a jarring aestehtic shift, vastly inferior for my tastes TBH, made me take more pauses & have to force myself to finish #18.
