We all treasure the characters in Pride and Prejudice, but if you had to pick just one, who would be your favourite character?
In celebration of Talking Books’ 90th birthday, we've created a special edition of Pride and Prejudice. rnib.in/TalkingBooks90

Every day spent waiting for vision rehabilitation is a day someone might miss a job opportunity, a family moment, or the chance to get out and about safely and independently.

It is a question occasionally raised: is listening to an audiobook reading?
Indeed it is! What is reading, if not the happy engagement of imagination, understanding, and delight?
Would you not agree?

When people lose their sight, it’s vital that they get support to learn new ways of getting around and doing everyday tasks.
However, thousands of people in England are people waiting over a year for this support.

Hey @support.bsky.team, blind and partially sighted users are currently unable to post on BlueSky, particularly the mobile app. Please can you prioritise a fix for this? We're a message away if we can help.

OK, this could be a hipster, a lion, a cat or all three. Frank the cat, who has the fluffiest brown tabby mane and giant paws, sits on someone's chest, which can only just be seen in shot. Frank is so fluffy that his giant paws, which are a bit like a cartoon cat's, can only just be seen beneath all that fur. Frank is wearing a dark grey, knitted beanie. It's perched atop his head just like a hipster might, and one ear pokes out the side so he doesn't miss any gossip. Franks eyes are shut and his long, white whiskers are slightly forward like he's both really happy and a bit sleepy.
“Frank, image description”
Is it a hipster? Is it a lion? Is it a cat?
It’s frank, aka the fluffiest cat you’ll ever meet.

Bertie is laying in a duvet on her side, legs stretched out in front of her, staring straight into the camera. She's smiling, eyes half shut, like she's in bliss. She's giving cutie patootie. She's a tortoiseshell or Calico (depending where you're from) cat which means she's orange, white and black. Her pink nose stands out against the white around her nose. A hand in the background strokes her back.
“Bertie, image description”
If ever we’re having a hard day, Bertie is always there to show us some love.
She’s asking to be stroked again as we write this. Gotta go!

Lola, a black Lhasa Apso stands, poised for a treat (we’re guessing) on a grey and blue fluffy bed. She’s looking up at the camera revealing big black eyes and cameral fur around her nose. She has floppy ears, and a white patch on her chest. A label on the bed reads “Dream Big Little One”.
“Lola, image description” with the full written out description.
Lola knows she’s been a good girl, so is expectedly waiting for a treat.
We'll give you a treat too if you add alt text.

Same polaroid design as image one with the name badge Ken. First things first, Ken is a pretty tabby cat. Ken is curled up in his bed, head perched on the side of said bed, twisting back to look into the camera. His stare suggests he’s thinking, ‘why is this hoomin taking my photo again?’ He’s a light brown tabby, with darker brown markings. He has almost black lines down his forehead and white fur below around his nose and on his chin. In the background we can see a red fleece blanket is folded inside the bed to make it extra comfortable for Ken.
The same article format, titled “Ken, image description.”
Ken truly embodies the life of a cat.
Is it time for a nap yet? If Ken had his way, it’d always be nap time.

“Happy national love your pet day + alt text” A polaroid with the name badge, Roy oh Roy, is this one a cutie. Roy is a black and tan terrier with floppy ears that are also somehow alert, a curly tail, a beard and bushy eyebrows. He’s smiling. But not just any smile. It’s a big, wide smile which reveals his sharp teeth. Roy is happy - probably because he’s stood on a Cornish cliff overlooking a stunning pink and orange sunset over calm sea. He’s also probably quite happy because he’s wearing a leopard print collar. The whole picture has a gorgeous golden filter from the sun setting behind the camera.
The written out image description for lovely Roy, written in the style of an article, titled “Roy, image description.”
We’ve got to start with Roy. Roy, oh Roy.
We wish we could spend every day with him on that Cornish cliff.

A split-screen meme showing two screengrabs from the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Joe Wright.
The top half reads, 'What excellent boiled potatoes.' Tom Hollander, who is playing Mr Collins, sits at a grand table beside Jane Bennett (played by Rosamund Pike). In front of him is a large bowl of boiled potatoes. However, he's looking longingly at his plate, which is out of sight but must be full of boiled potatoes.
The bottom half reads, 'Many years since I've had such an exemplary vegetable.' He's still looking lovingly at his plate of potatoes. Jane is now looking at him, slightly bewildered.
No one:
Us: This needs exemplary alt text right now
