I see, you got me there haha. I don’t have any idea about accessibility and you are the expert so maybe what I’m saying doesn’t make sense, but wouldn’t it be possible to keep both ways of interacting? The accesible one and the swipe for those how don’t use voice over?
Anywhere on the grid I mean. Why wouldn’t it be accesible? It’s how it works on IG and makes navigation very swift and smooth. Also in bsky’s app I can navigate through my tabs that way.
Also swipe sideways left-right anywhere on the profile screen to navigate through the tabs would be awesome.
Yes, would be nice to have photos and videos together in the main grid, but then also just filter the videos in a separate grid (kinda like IG does with reels where you see them in the main grid with all and alone in the reels tab, or like bsky’s app does now as well with the videos tab.)
Now it’s only missing a separate video tab on profiles :)

By the way, adding that functionality of the “show me more/less of this” algorithm trainer of bsky’s discover feed inside Flashes would be awesome. Tapping right there on the three dots where you can share or report a post :)
Still there’s a lot that we can advance in that regard. I’d love more hand curated feeds, not just by tags or such. That needs a person’s work of course but really I think that could be a paid job as well in the future if Bluesky keeps growing.
The new 2 default feeds you added (trending, timeline) don’t seem to show me much stuff I could be interested in at the moment. In any case, having the possibility of choosing diverse or theme specific feeds is one of the key points that makes bsky stand out. I follow art related feeds for example.
Regarding this I’d say as the best feed for default is Bsky’s “Discover” feed. At least for me it works quite good showing me posts I may be interested in (afaiu you can train the algorithm of that feed to your taste by letting know show me more/show me less like this when a post shows up).
Or portrait ratio (as in the new IG) since that’s the most common ratio when using mobile. But that makes more sense there because of stories. In any case I would keep visual continuity across profiles, that means either all squares or all portrait.
I’d say sticking to squares is safest bet for now.
