with where most are at currently, looking for saviours and appealing to authority to address issues, having an org that can educate at large, give aid where able & give tools on building local action is going to be key

maybe it's time some folks got together to do that...

it takes time to build something that can address a global community, that's why most projects focus on local action. that and a tangible physical connection to land & others is vital to building real resilience

what i envision is a network of local groups collaborating together for larger projects

we need a furry (or therian tbh) mutual aid network

this community is very interconnected and a lot of it's key players know eachother well but we spend all our time infighting instead of building together

our decentralisation is great but that doesn't mean u can't also be organised

great that they're doing something but remember that right-wing think tanks have spent decades taking over courts in this country

we need to do more than "hope someone does something about this"
we need to operate beyond "the proper channels"

there is no appeal to authority under a corrupt system

This!! I think a LOT of furries out there are actually therian, but they're just too worried about whether they can call themselves that or not out of 1: fear of it being disrespectful if theyre wrong, or 2: fear of not meeting some perceived technicality they're not sure even actually exists

this needs to be our go to response as a culture when threatened by systems. we need to build with eachother & grow our capacity to care for one another. when one of us is attacked, there should be a network ready to mobilise & we aren't there yet

on a community level, i think this is a good opportunity to build stronger support networks & grow our defenses. the therian community used to be smaller & connected but platforms like tiktok & twitter have driven us apart from eachother

people unconsciously mirror tone, u can de-escalate tension by using a softer empathetic tone. approach from a place of "you seem lost, let me help you" & don't engage in their narrative but rather try to disarm
