Caveat: mine is an outsider's perspective... some of his collaborators say he requires them to give themselves over to a project completely... each project becomes an all-encompassing sprint. Idea: extraordinarily high intensity for a short amount of time. Result: high volume and high quality.

I can't say it was a good experience 😂. But when I pushed myself, I was surprised how much I was able to contribute ... Especially in an area relatively new to me. So proud of the new ideas/approaches I was able to formulate. Maybe this is my gateway into more combinatorics.

New paper. When I was on sabbatical I visited MPI Leipzig where I noticed the way Sturmfels did math collaborations. This paper was my experiment into his way. First meeting on this project was July 26 2025, to acceptance in PAMS on Jan 19 2026.

Access to soap, paper towels, clean washrooms, masks, sanitizer, and properly maintained buildings is essential to preventing the spread of illness.”

The @uwofa1 - University of Western Ontario Faculty Association - is quickly becoming a leader in post-secondary education messaging about the equity implications and importance of masking as an integral layer of C19 and flu mitigation.

Framed to add to my office art. The University of Utah used a graduation pic of me and my PhD advisor as one of the main images for their 2017 commencement. These posters were apparently everywhere. How silly.
