I have thoughts on things to do: Writing memoir. Podcasting about combining technology/yoga. Finding another technical role or more management. I just don't know how to balance backup revenue if I lose my job/energy for job and family/still doing something I care about. I want to take on one thing.

Those of you who've been here before, watched major shifts in life, obstacles, battles, and directions: A job changes, a family shifts. I can feel that something is coming, and it's going to be hard. There are pieces falling into place, and some falling away. We are already in a vulnerable position.

At this point, our intro comp/first-year English course has been so heavily revised, it no longer includes a novel, or "extended reading" of any kind, no "specialized" or "historical" reading, mostly in-class assignments, no research essay...and we are still seeing a 40-50% rate of AI misconduct.

Another ICE "assault" case unravels. Border Patrol and ICE are arresting US citizens and then after they find out that they are US citizens, they are charging them with "assault" to justify their actions. This is clearly DHS policy at this point. We've seen it repeatedly now.
