"The Charter has had a significant impact on EU law & policy," says FRA Director Sirpa Rautio. "However, further efforts are needed to ensure that fundamental rights are effectively protected and promoted across the EU.” Backdrop of gavel and EU flag.

At today’s #JHA @consilium.europa.eu meeting, FRA's Sirpa Rautio suggests how to better promote the added value of the EU’s #FundamentalRights Charter:
1. Build capacity & raise awareness
2. Human rights impact assessments
3. Collect evidence on national usage

The selective and hyper-partisan interpretation/application of the international rule of law - in evidence right now among powerful states in the Global North - will lead nowhere good.

Gaeil ghlúin Aoine an Chéasta chun gníomhú ar son aontú na hÉireann tar éis na h-ard-fheise Bhí daoine óga a d’fhas suas ó Chomhaontú Aoine an Chéasta go mór sa treis ag Ard Fheis Chonradh na Gaeilge ag an deireadh seachtaine.

Tá glúin nua ceannairí ag Conradh na Gaeilge agus iad meáite ar an eagras a chur ag gníomhú ar son aontú na hÉireann 'ar leas na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta'. #Gaeilge jrnl.ie/6963875t

Good Friday generation of Irish speakers votes overwhelmingly for Irish unity at Belfast event The age gap was to the fore as young people voted by a large majority to work for Irish unity at this weekend’s Gaelic League Ard-fheis.

It was the young people, who grew up after the Good Friday Agreement, who ensured Conradh na Gaeilge now has as Irish unity, for the betterment of Irish and the Gaeltacht, as its objective. #Gaeilge jrnl.ie/6964079t

New figures reveal how many healthy years men and women in every NI council area can expect Girls in Mid Ulster can expect to spend more of their lives in good health than anywhere else in Northern Ireland, new figures suggest.

‘Northern Ireland's two main cities have the worst figures, with the Derry City and Strabane council by far the lowest - and on a downward trajectory.’

The post-Agreement policing reform project continues to under-deliver dramatically - despite the hype.

Too many institutional cultures across the North/NI remain remarkably resistant to genuine transformation and change.
