To me, this encapsulates our entire era. An entire governmental structure, nation, and indeed the *world* is stuck at the mercy of a deranged moron, all because people refuse to stand up to him and *stop* him.

I always think I saw these guys open for Cake, and then I remember it was Seven Mary Three, and not 311.
If I'm wrong and you, in fact, supported impeachment, then that's great, but this is not a one-and-done situation. If you think he's got pudding for brains, if you think he's committed unconstitutional acts, it's your duty and the duty of all elected reps to remove him and push that every day.
I've heard you voted "present" on impeaching him.
If you actually think he's that bad, wouldn't you *want* to remove him from office? Wouldn't you, then, *support* such an effort instead of effectively abstaining? Wouldn't you be using your platform to push for impeachment explicitly?
The sign, titled βICE Kidnapping and Ghost Car," is an art project, and a public call for people to pay attention.
βA lot of people have reached out and said we should do this at all the ICE kidnappings," said one of the artists.

Is this part of the "Trump is buying people shoes randomly because his brain is expired tapioca pudding" thing?
Might I suggest, then, that you force a vote on articles of impeachment?
Interesting. Guess we'll see how it shakes out. I'll be looking forward to my ward's candidate forum.
[Keith David voiceover]: "RAMIREZ! KEEP THOSE DRONES OFF THAT OIL TANKER!"
I remember that month.
I mean, I didn't see you do standup, but I remember all the jokes about the Samurai.
Oh interesting. Then I guess I've met or spoken to them all at this point! Did Jahmiel Jackson make it on the ballot? He's the only one I haven't met in person yet.
I should check how many for PA-3. So far, I've met 7, I believe, and spoken with an 8th.
Because the billionaire owners of media empires like Trump and want to protect him.
They're regime media.
Hmm. Fair point, but what other flashpoints do we have around the world that Pete was screwing with in 2025? I dunno. Venezuela? Maybe it's lobster dinners for ICE assholes flying kidnap victims to prisons in conflict zones?
Not a joke, by the way.
My guess is the lobster dinner provided to troops before they ship out to Iran.
Ha! Love this. I listen to Mark's (and Sarah's) podcast, and just stumbled across this.
At this point, I think it is because those in elected office simply don't *want* to. Or they've convinced themselves that remaining silent is the "smart play" or somesuch bullshit.
It's why we need to vote the dinosaurs out during primary season and get people who understand modernity in office.
Bingo. If they were smart enough to engineer "distractions," they would do it better, and the stuff they'd choose to do would be far less self-destructive.
They're idiots. Malicious, hateful, fascist idiots.
Even wears them when he and the couch are intimate.
I think it mostly boils down to "elite/rich brain" caused by rich, influential, and/or powerful folks only ever talking to each other (outside of Ye Olde Tom Friedman Cab Ride(tm)), and constantly reinforcing each others' views.
3\At a minimum, it would probably be administered by the regional MACs responsible for running traditional Medicare currently. You could extend Medicare Advantage the same way, I suppose, but when people say "Medicare for All" they mean expanding access to Parts A, B, and C to everyone. Not Part D.
2\Medicare for All would be a dramatic and fundamental shift in extending the coverage of traditional Medicare to literally every person in the country, regardless of age, coupled with the necessary expansion in covered services.
1\Medicare for All isn't "just Medicare Advantage." Medicare Advantage is the government paying private insurers to provide Medicare covered benefits, while those payors provide additional covered services outside of traditional Medicare as part of their plans. But coverage is still 65+ only.
I'd watch that.
APA all day, baby.
It is true that the world has bigger problems. Can't argue with that.
However, this problem seems like something (A) everyone agrees is stupid, and (B) we *could* change. But we just...don't.
We don't have to live like this. We could change it with the stroke of a pen.
Yeah, the media establishment likes Republicans better, and treats them with kid gloves.
At this point, I think the only reasonable response is to simply stop consuming what they offer pretty much across the board, and look to independent outlets that aren't owned by asshole billionaires.
About goddamn time.
I have long since stopped giving a good goddamn what WaPo or NYT has to say about pretty much anything. They're zombie news outlets nowadays. Shuffling around in a mockery of being formerly respectable news sources, biding their time until they go the way of Newsweek.
