A scene from a non-horror film that horrified me anyway.

Iβve got some more writing up at @bloody-disgusting.com. This time I had the chance to talk about a classic Shaw Brothers horror flick and sing the praises of one of the studioβs greatest directors.

Grindhouse Gospel has hit 10k subscribers! Thanks for all the support on the new channel. Took me 32 videos to get there. For comparison, it took me 42 videos to hit 1k subs on Sick Flicks...so faster the second time around.
Lots more deep dives on the way!
Now spinning π΅
Whatever happened to Nate Kenyon?

As I make my way through the @talestoterrify.bsky.social archives, start to present day, a tiny surreal moment happened recently. I listened to an inexperienced novice narrator, who was also ignorant about the business and the professionalism that comes with it...

Iβve been writing for 30 years. Earlier today, I sent @cgolden.bsky.social my latest story. He said it was one of the best things heβs ever read by me. I needed to hear that. Whether youβre a wide-eyes newbie or a jaded veteran, occasional accolades from a peer make this writer journey much easier.
A new story with Manor in April! I can't wait for you all to read it:
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) episode is now available.

I have to admit, I was like @horrordad.bsky.social when I saw this as a kid. I didn't get it -- the deviation from the original's tone, the comedic elements, the subtext, etc. It was only when I watched as an adult that it finally clicked, and now I appreciate it for what it truly is: ingenious.

I can't express how beholden I was when Elford agreed to write an original never-before-published story for Estate of Fright.
We at MANOR are excited to share his dark storytelling with all of you in April's edition!
On the bookshelves October 13th. Hope yβall like it:
A big thanks to @rockcapuano.bsky.social for dusting off one of my older short stories, βBig Boyβ and listening to it. Adding it to his list of best stories was the cherry on top. You can listen to it yourself over on Pseudopod.

Audiobook: DAYTIDE by Chris Panatier @scribeofhades.bsky.social (2025)
Narrated by Eric Fox @ericfoxvox.bsky.social again, Iβm looking forward to this one. Panatier bibliography, here I come!
I finished this one quickly because Panatier is THAT GOOD. Instant fan. Its lower page-count didnβt hurt and neither did narrator @ericfoxvox.bsky.social with his excellent performance. I already grabbed the audiobook for Panatierβs new novel DAYTIDE (2026) the day it was released. So, naturallyβ¦

Audiobook: SHITSHOW by Chris Panatier @scribeofhades.bsky.social (2025)
Would you believe me if I told you a book titled SHITSHOW has some real emotional context and a heart of gold at its center? Itβs funny as a carnival in hell too, darkly comedic.
