I didn't realise that when they said "women and children first" that the rest of that sentence was "to lose money to fund corporate tax breaks"

Someone needs to tell James Acaster
Fine, although presumably its removal opens the door to a (possibly unsuccessful) argument about Parliamentary intention if the Act originally explicitly required compliance and now does not?
God DAMN I'm so proud to see this outpouring of aroha and solidarity.
Toitu te tiriti!
As a Kiwi overseas, I cannot express how much the Toitū Te Tiriti movement back home has given me hope for our future in a world which has felt pretty hopeless for a long time now.
PLEASE, if you are submitting on any legislation, do it personally through the parliament website.
Submitting via a third party (eg Greenpeace) is fantastic if you’d do nothing at all otherwise but if you can, take that extra step.
Or do both.
Maximise the effect of your voice.

@strictlyobiter.bsky.social Thank god you’re here!
Bluesky tip for newbies: Bluesky has no real algorithm. Likes here do nothing but show the poster that you enjoyed their content.
That kindness is always going to be appreciated by creators, but if you want to help to boost something here, you have to repost it so others see it. 🙂
Is there a way to “mute” hashtags on Bluesky? When I signed up I told the algorithm I was into books because, well, who isn’t? But I didn’t mean *this* into books!
Submissions have opened on the Treaty Principles Bill. You'll almost certainly see a lot of individuals and groups with big followings telling you to submit using a template that they provide. I am pleading with you to not do this. It's the least effective way to participate.
