Star the dog, a white bulldog/pittie mutt of some kind, is hurtling through an open door across a deck, straight towards you. her forepaws catch air as her cow-spotted ears flap with the wind of her acceleration. the last thing you will see is the blur of the brown spot at the crown of her head and her big doggy smile as she knocks you prone and infuses you with the raw stellar energy of her affection

Star the dog rolls in autumn leaves, belly up and paws splayed, a blue dinosaur toy clutched in her jaws

Star in the arms of my husband Aaron, a bearded white guy in glasses. they are sitting on the kitchen floor because that’s where they do their best goofing off for some reason. Star’s ears are drooping and her tongue is lolling out of her mouth in a ridiculous expression of pure canine joy

Star is hanging out the passenger side window of my Subaru (but is tethered securely to the seat buckle, out of frame), the sun on her face and the wind in her ears

most importantly, this is my rescue dog, Star. her likes include car rides, gluing herself to my husband, shouting with her mouth full, bringing us socks, and interrupting me while I’m trying to record The Unpredicted Party. her dislikes include cats, baths, and uncanny valley statues of humans
