Suggesting alternatives to a general audience is fine. I don’t think anyone who’s just starting out should start with Animate. But suggesting alternatives, all of which lack the feature set of Animate, to someone whose long term ongoing projects are in Animate, is not helpful.
Adobe appears to have reversed course on this. Animate is safe, at least for the immediate future.

I still use Adobe Animate all the time for character art. Adobe making it so that next year you can no longer even open up your project files is wild.
