Nope, tariffs aren't always bad if you use them to protect young industries. However, they almost always BECOME bad because they are impossible to get rid of. Also, in order for tariffs to work it needs to be coupled with policies that incentivices production and job creation. Trump offers nothing.
It's a very strange sensation, almost like mourning, that it's unsafe to visit the US as a Norwegian citizen. It's a shame, I genuinely like so much of what the US has to offer but almost anywhere is safer now. We watch in horror as our friend and guardian descends into madness and authoritarianism.
