I wish such a sense memory could spark joy in the advocates & dyslexics reading this. Instead, they know this reality: In 2007, "balanced" literacy was in full force in most American schools (despite NRP reporting), so...many kids weren't really reading at all. #lucycalkins #dyslexia #illiteracy
