This beautiful collaboration between Liberty. and Imperial War Museums with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has resulted in three gorgeous prints highlighting the importance of creativity in conflict and confinement. Hanging outside and inside the museum they are a credit to our dedicated team.

Back from a weekend in Leicester for the Vernacular Architecture Group winter conference. Amused during Joe Thompson's paper to learn that 60-odd years ago poor Reg Mason was coming up against all the same old tall tales about historic buildings in his book on Wealden architecture!

Interior of a reconstructed medieval house, a timber frame with discoloured plaster infill, shutters instead of window glass to the right.
Exterior of a red and white painted medieval house with a plain tile roof.
A detail of a carved late medieval post with the initial 'h'.
Fifteenth-century house from North Cray, Kent, at the Weald & Downland Museum. Its elm timbers were originally painted red. Mounting evidence shows medieval timbers were often painted with natural hematite-even this finely carved wainscot post made for Henry VII had a similarly painted red ground.
