When I was teaching intro to philosophy to mostly freshmen college students,
I told them on day one of class what the final exam would be.

The test was this:

In a five page, single spaced, properly referenced paper, outline your philosophy of life and defend it.

Half the students complained.

The Child The child wakes. Uncertain of many things. Chief among them, who or what she is. The void surrounds her. There are no sounds except her breath and heartbeat – and they are deafening.

I enjoyed writing this poem. It simply flowed out. The was very little editing. Enjoy.

There must be an "enemy." And the masses are graciously accepting the lie.

F*ck the wealthy, they've stolen everything. Hard work? No, their underpaid employees work hard.

They deploy fear as a weapon.
"We must protect the children."

But don't worry about that if it is the rich r*ping them.

For a population of around 1% it is surprising how much effort is put into invalidating the Transgender Community. I have and will continue to state the matter of Trans Rights is this generations social justice issue.

When one person loses a right from institutionalized discrimination we all lose.
