Absolutely unbelievable VARs this season
Using my hard won PTO to take the day off to play the new Monster Hunter is simultaneously a smart mature adult choice and also the most "teenage me would be proud" thing I've done in months
If I run it again then I'd likely suggest players choose a different Gambit. The rest are flavorful and fun and actually drive some creative play rather than being *real* good at shooting and going "so I start blasting" whenever a challenge comes up.
Otherwise, I quite liked OB!
Not my style and we've chatted about it but... I'd rather have the regular sessions and friend time over quibbling about possible power disparities haha
Second bit is bigger of an answer... I've been playing with the same group of friends for like, a decade, and this particular player is a known min-maxer even when the game doesn't call for it (like Orbital Blues). At this point it's a "well, that's what he enjoys doing in TTRPGs" so we roll with it
Really just The Devil's Right Hand, which is always rolling with advantage using a pistol. It very much became a "when you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail" except with... Shooting people.
I really liked running Orbital Blues, I thought the vibes were spot on and enjoyed the simplification of weapons and abstraction of combat.
Only complaint was some of the Gambits felt a little too strong, which were quickly ferreted out and exploited by the munchkin in our group :/ lol
