depends on what kind of boots you’re planning to polish. for me, i started with:

-saddle soap (depends on the kind of leather you want to clean)
-a microfibre cloth
-a pick to clean the treads out (i used a horseshoe pick/brush)
-polish (i went with black wax polish and neutral wax polish to cover-

My boot polish was chosen entirely on the basis of

1)A really good bootblack recommended it
2) I've been told its body safe so I won't die if I lick it
