Mechanics love to performatively move your seat as far back as possible as if their legs are seriously that long
Oof. I just read your post in the most uncharitable, pedantic way possible, and I gotta tell ya: it's not looking good for you.
So the candidate who left school at 16 with no A-Levels and who's spent her whole adult life vocational, manual jobs beat the ivory tower academic turned cushy media pundit, but you can be sure we'll still get plenty more casual description of the latter as "white working class".
A lot of you would do well to just be quiet and grateful if youβve never had to experience a socially unpalatable neurological or mental illness. Be grateful your brain can process dopamine well enough to never lead you into situations that publicly damage your dignity and go to bed
Itβs an obsession that serves nothing but to make you feel better for being on the βrightβ side of a situation that calls for nothing to be DONE ABOUT IT ALL except to agree to display a tiny sliver of human empathy for someone who we all know means no harm. Have unfollowed a few folk over this
Why are we culturally obsessed with there needing to be a villain in any given situation. I do not buy that the BBC is evil for not automatically censoring someoneβs uncontrollable disability. Can we not be adult enough to engage with the topic without there needing to be a BAD GUY
it's so good to learn that when some people said "destigmatise mental illness" they didn't mean, like, "stop judging people for things they can't help," they meant "i should be allowed to get up late for work"
Really nuts how many men were like "Me Too went too far, and I need to email Jeffrey Epstein about it."
This indifference or enthusiasm for sexual violence is a cultural pathology born of misogyny, not a peculiar or unique degeneracy of the rich. You know people who have responded to rape like that.
Sharron Davies ranting against 15 minute cities, because of course she is.
Suzanne Moore in the Telegraph saying she wants to... kill all dogs??
Julie Burchill asking "does it matter if Grok undresses us all?" in The Spectator
Graham Linehan in the midst of his now four-day-long double down on Alex Pretti's murder being justified and fine.
Calling transphobia a 'gateway drug' to the far right undersells it. It's pure accelerant. Grimly fascinating to guess what crankery becomes any famous transphobe's secondary obsession, cos they all have one: 15 minute cities are fascism! Grok noncing is cool! ICE are good! We should kill all dogs!
ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.
The biggest giveaway that Stephen is a traitor is that he saved his ABBA Arrival orange-panelled jumpsuit for so late in the series. Anyone frightened of murder or banishment would have worn that wonder on day two.
Canβt believe nobody in the castle has clocked this.

Tweet exchange in which a photo of Anne Hathaway is posted by @TheRoyalSerf, to which user @VvSchweetz24 replies "@grok...do your thing. @Grok replies: Anne Hathaway isn't Jewish; she was raised Catholic but left the church. She married Adam Shulman (who is Jewish) in 2012 and celebrates Jewish holidays with their kids. SHe's played Jewish roles, like in "Armageddon Time."
pretty sure he meant the other thing, grok, but very cool that those are your two things
And Renee Goodβs last words appear to be βWeβre not mad at you.β
So far the BBCβs coverage of the Minnesota killing seems really, really off
Get Verify to verify what happened - NYT, Bellingcat etc already have - and report that
So weird for two male ex partners to be mentioned and one quoted here and nothing mentioned about her current partner who was with her when she was murdered and has spoken to press outlets and provided photos www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I don't know what to say about this other than that it feels like the annihilation of the human spirit. There's no possible compromise with ICE or the people who support them, and even if there were a possible compromise, it would be immoral

There's your Nobel Peace Prize winner, btw. Hats off to everyone involved. Great job.

Hold on guys, middle class commentators in the Unlimited Genocide Country are reliably informing me he was a bad guy so maybe it's not that bad to kidnap the leaders of other countries?
Probably not an exaggeration to say that the US government was emboldened to do this by the fact there was no significant domestic or international establishment opposition to all the boat murders in the Caribbean and Pacific in the last few months
2 types of adults, the ones who eat Christmas dinner and the ones who aspire to take over cooking it. I will never be the latter

The cognitive exam is actually literally called the βACEβ so I can see exactly his bizarre train of thought here
When are we to expect newspaper front-page interview features with Dr. Beth Upton about her two-year ordeal of having her right to anonymity removed and her name dragged through the mud and being decried as a sexual predator only for a tribunal to clear her and find SHE was discriminated against?
"We need to look after our own first."
If the reporting on the Peggie decision tells us anything, it should be that the way news gets reported in this country has little to do with truth, and much more to do with narrative - as well as whose heavily spun press release lands on journos desks first.
Leaving aside the fact the ruling is overwhelmingly unfavourable for Peggie and makes clear she is dishonest and harassed the doctor, I wonder why this story quotes an utterly irrelevant opinion from transphobic group Sex Matters with no corresponding quote from any org that supports trans rights?
My thread earlier focused on the discussion re. FWS - but I just want to draw this out really explicitly:
The press absolutely monstered Dr Beth Upton in the most appalling way β only for the Tribunal to find that Beth had done nothing wrong, but that Sandie Peggie had harassed her.
