What are we, really?

Wanted to mess around a little and try robotifying one of my characters. Robotifying? Robotizing? I dunno what the word would be. I'd like to draw more android characters though.

All components colored in blue are invisible mechanisms made of an unknown material unique to all mimics. When interacting with compatible materials, creates what looks like a "telekinetic" effect. Piston-like scaffolding and servos are used for body movement. These are often completely silent; more noise is often made by the ordinary plastic moving than the scaffolding itself. Scaffolding also tends to greatly dampen the annoying as hell squeaking that'd be made anyway.
A muscle-like membrane scaffold "clips" through the plastic shell. If the scaffold hardens or softens, the actual plastic follows. Manipulation of this scaffold in particular areas allows for Softening, typically used for shock absorption (and other things.)
