This morning, instead of saying "tomorrow," my husband accidentally said "nexterday" and now I'm questioning why that hasn't been the word all along and I will be using it going forward.

My heart: *beats faster than I'd like it to*
Me: omg I'm dying
My brain: maybe it's because you haven't eaten a single bite of food and all your organs have to work harder to do their jobs without fuel
Me: nah that can't be it

A graphic with a white background and blue cursive text at the top saying June Reads. Multi colored leaves are at the top right and bottom left corners. Three book covers are in the middle which are Winging it With You, Aftertaste, and Morning Glory Girl.
It did not like this photo and wouldn't upload it with the original post

I knew the second I switched out my winter clothes for my summer clothes, it would get cold again.
Sorry y'all. It's my fault. *sigh*
Pro tip: put as many as you can in rolling suitcases!
Kerry is climbing through a window with one leg in and one leg out. She is wearing all black with a beanie and sunglasses and has long brown hair. One hand is holding a lit flashlight and the other is propping up the window pane. The background outside the window is lots of green grass and trees.
The cover of the book Finlay Donovan Crosses the Line. The background is a light purple/lavender color, with an illustration of a light skinned woman with long brown hair biting her lower lip and wearing all black climbing through a window with a lit flashlight in one hand and the other propping up the window pane. Outside the window is dark with a tree in the background and stars in the sky. The author's name, Elle Cosimano is at the top in a bright turquoise, followed by part of the title, Finlay Donovan, in dark blue/purple below, and the rest of the title, Crosses the Line, in white text.
I forgot about this platform for a while, but I posted something fun on my bookstagram today that I'll share here too.

But do my neighbors think I'm a lunatic or are they used to my shenanigans?
How'd I do?

Tweet showing a GIF of Rachel McAdams as Regina George from Mean Girls smiling and saying, "So you agree," above a Pop Base post stating the IRS will share immigrantsβ tax information with ICE to aid deportations.
Perfect MG moment.
I got a facial today for the first time in YEARS -- probably, like, ten -- and it was heavenly. Here's a reminder to prioritize self-care in whatever form feels good for you. π©΅
Is this not... every day?
Yes! It's the best! Helps to read more, for sure.
And sometimes I will even listen while reading the print book. The ultimate! π
Would love to be added as well :)
Happy International Womenβs Day β€οΈ
My books may say stfuattdlagg but irl my teeth are sharp and I donβt fuck around with the patriarchy. This world should be run by women. Full stop.

My house is already overrun with books, but sometimes a special edition or another country's cover is too pretty not to own.
Each month is different, just depending on which books I'm reading, which genres, if it's available on Libby, & how busy I am. In Jan I read 11 books, & while none were fully on audio, some I supplemented with audio while driving, chores, etc. Feb 9 books, 1 full audio. March 3 so far, all audio.
I am Team DNF. There are too many good books out there.
It also simultaneously provides beauty & hope.
This structure is intentional & cleverly written. Apparitions displays fantastic writing in a dark, powerfully sad, fascinating story. Highly recommend. & DO NOT skip the author's note at the start. It puts everything into perspective.

As an ASL Interpreter, I know the damaging effects of language deprivation on Deaf folks. In Apparitions, Pottle not only shows us this but also plants us into the story with the narrator, overwhelming us with his experiences and feelings. It's dark, claustrophobic, and induces anxiety and dread.
While this is a horror story (and some parts are absolutely disturbing and difficult to read), it is also an important, powerful example of another type of horror: language deprivation.
After years of brutal abuse, a Deaf teen escapes his father's basement. Bruised, alone, & deprived of language, he is lost until he finds himself in an isolated psychiatric facility. He meets another Deaf teen, Felix, who teaches him Sign Language. But he overlooks the dangers of Felix's growing ego
Kerry's white hand holds up a paperback copy of Apparitions in front of her white bookshelves filled with books.

"My first language wasn't Sign. It was violence."
"When they spoke to me -- when anyone speaks to me -- they speak in ghosts. That's what words are. We don't see them, but we feel them."

Yay! Hope you love it!
