Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didn’t drop the rod. WTF
I’ve now come to the conclusion that this is just a Dril experiment.
I've been saying it a lot, but these deaths line up with what happened in early concentration camps during other regimes: Deaths from poor conditions, disease, or abuse. These deaths are not accidental. They are the direct result of a camp system that is designed to harm those being imprisoned.
Pardoning drug lords but deporting sick little kids straight from the hospital really sums the whole thing up doesn’t it
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social
I think the thing that enrages me the most about Musk is that he presents himself as some sci-fi nerd hero doing everything possible to save humanity by going to new planets.
If your plan for saving humanity doesn’t include the people already on earth, you’re just a racist piece of shit.
Little can better encapsulate this administration's mindset: We are untouchable and must be coddled and protected at any expense. You (the masses, particularly if you're brown and non-MAGA) are expendable. Your survival, your quality of life ... it means nothing to us. Less than nothing.
“A quiet street full of broken glass”: every a.m. rush hour in the Twin Cities, a new kristallmorgen. Every smashed-window kidnapping, a new kristallabend.
Watch this, it's astonishing.
Honorable mention to this track from a Kenyan-born NY artist.

I suppose the only silver lining to SCOTUS’s inevitable decision to give Trump what he wants with birthright citizenship is that court reform becomes a requirement.
Pack it, circuit riding, defunding, whatever.
this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
I don't think we'll have to wait that long.
Ilan Wurman's anti-birthright citizenship Supreme Court amicus. I won't mince words. He bastardizes the common law. It is a methodologically bankrupt approach to the history of Anglo-American constitutionalism. It is little more than preening to gain someone's favor, but certainly not a scholar's.
I don't have hard data on this and would love to see some. Just my anecdotal experience working with populations (indigent clients), who are far more likely to have employability concerns and alternative income streams that are nominally legal but under-the-table.
Was following along in this convo only for this point - I think this both underestimates the amount of off-the-books labor in the United States AND how a change like this (absent other significant policy changes) would incentivize the further creations of a black-market labor market.
Lmao thank you so much, I was so confused.
This is very powerfully written. Thank you.
Especially when it's not clear when he died (and will be hard to ascertain with the lack of preservation of the scene and what I imagine are irregular procedures with the body/rendering immediate aid).
We would never have got to this point without Renee and the juxtaposition of the two incidents is a major reason why.
Opponents could try to justify her murder, but those same arguments were proven hollow by Alex.
One of the best things I’ve read in a while:
/3 In this moment of horror, look at the people of MN. They’re not an army. Few are trained for urban combat, through there are many veterans. They are young and old and rich and poor. They are standing up at great personal danger, defying a despicable Gestapo government and its vile apologists.
This is fascist propaganda. This is not a legitimate government.
The Republican position now appears to be that you have a constitutional right to openly carry a gun in public, unless you do so while expressing a view that the government dislikes, in which case the secret police can shoot you to death on the spot.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from the same people who have spent decades yelling about the Second Amendment that this shooting was somehow justified because the observer (allegedly) had a gun.
It turns out, it was never about *all* of our liberty.
I think you can see them pull the gun in the video two seconds BEFORE any shots are fired.
The agent that runs away when shots are fired (toward the camera) joined in with empty hands; grabs the victim's leg; reaches for the victim's right waistband; and then has a gun in his hands.
That video is horrific indeed. Cold blooded execution.
