Schmetzer said he's fine and just needs an anti-inflammatory before the match. I'm expecting him to play.

Reminder:
(but, at least we have USL and I'll gladly hate-watch Lou City)
Not sure about availability this weekend but @hornekerjustin.bsky.social reported that LΓΆwen was not practicing.
It seems like the midfield is such a black hole for ball quality right now that the wingbacks are the only option for CBs, and opponents are just parking on them (WBs), taking away a critical component of our build up.
The PSxG profile is a stabilizing sample telling us he gets in good positions and then does worse with the chances than expected. If it's a streak of bad luck due for regression, then it's a big streak. He isn't going anywhere, so I sure hope there is a correction coming.
I'll call this "Turning Page Tuesday" and let your column walk me back off the ledge π
Agreed that this may be the most important thing to fix this summer:
"...itβs hard to relieve pressure when your midfield four-man box is full of direct players who canβt take a defender out of the play..."
Timo struggled with this transition defense last year as well. Apparently he hasn't learned his lesson.
Two CM's who can't pass or receive, neutralizing what should be useful, skilled wingbacks. A RAM where possession goes to die, and a CDM at LAM who was somehow serviceable yet unable to compensate for the deficits elsewhere. It makes sense why Becher had to do that, and I don't fault him for it.
The frustrating thing to me is not the results. It's that we're dropping points to answer predicted outcomes rather than asking new questions. What are we learning that sets us up for the future, that we didn't already know about this roster and how it organizes in attack and defense? #AllForCITY
That's a Gob Bluth "I've made a huge mistake" face if I've ever seen one.
Celebrating a home point against CLT was short sighted and the weaknesses from that game proved fatal in SD. The ideas were there again, albeit only in brief flashes this time. But, the personnel is further off than the club wants to believe. Week to week, this was bad to worse not admirable to bad.
At some point you've got to make a club that isn't perpetually wondering what it looks like when all the pieces are there. I'm out of patience for this narrative. It's cumulative dating back to last season.
Where can I get one of those Apple TV broadcast glitch goals?
Becher can't beat a defender not named Ream 1v1, can't finish a tap in, and has no hold up play.
Hopefully Damet is intellectually honest about 'seeing what we got' and ends the JSB experiment soon.
We saw good ideas emerge in the second phase of the half, but the personnel is not there.
This is somehow still way worse than I expected.
Enjoying this electric, bonkers game between Miami and Orlando? Well, stick around sportsball fans, because you will not want to miss what's coming up next! #AllForCITY
I actually think that's wildly popular opinion but taboo to say out loud. All the talk about a GAM surplus, targeting a DP in the summer, etc is kind of moot if LΓΆwen is a question mark or hole in the roster.
The West now has 9 wins, four draws, and no losses against the East so far, including some surprising resultsβ weakening the potential value of the soft interconference schedule #AllForCITY has. West dominance is an interesting storyline in this young season.
Remember when Sporting Kansas sent a cease and desist to an un-monetized St. Louis soccer podcast, and the league just kind of laughed it off?
Hijacking a really good thread here to tangentially say that Klauss' success in LA gets all the attention right now, but #AllForCITY using its U22 slots on Sangbin and JGR is still the thing that keeps me up at night.
he scored again since I posted this kill me
guys was selling Klauss bad
There needs to be a weekly, Friday night MLS game.
The accounting nerds don't understand how much we're in the trenches taking fire over signing a washed striker on about a 10-game loan as a Designed Player.
Maybe it works on the books, and maybe he'll light it up, but they are doing us no favors in the banter department π
The whole thing is a bit overblown, but then again I'm now terrified they were never going to get a real DP anyway, so if CΓ³rdova is even moderately promising, they'll use a small sample size to claim they found their guy ahead of schedule, and Diego will come tell us we are being ungrateful again.
Watch it be for a Battlehawks player, you know Tommy isn't scooping that.
Happy to benefit from this league's ridiculousness for once.
Does this total assume they convert 100% of the Klauss cashfer to GAM?
Sangbin's lead foot was a possession killer numerous times in the first half, and the attack looked much better as soon as he subbed off. I'm afraid you are correct that he is not a fit for this style. It seems the metrics match the eye test: he was not good.
