2/ Why do MAGA-GOPers worry so much about calling it a war? I mean, Whiskey Pete renamed his department the Dept of War.
Maybe they're just being "politically correct." It's okay to do that, apparently, unless you're, you know, ON THE BATTLEFIELD. #RulesOfEngagement
Perfect.
We've got War-a-Lago and warflation all in one day.
here's today's post: "congratulations, Republicans β you own this shithole mess" β the price of gas goes fuckity-zoom.

Hassett dismisses jobless young people.
Trump dismisses high gas prices, war deaths, security threats, endless wars.
Great govt you got there.
I was the same for a year but decided WaPp was no longer even worth that reduced rate: I subscribe to National Post, which often runs WaPo stories, or find gifted ones here or elsewhere.
I also check in with The Stranger which bills itself as Seattle's Only Newspaper, but is sort of a distant cousin to The Onionπ

I like and follow Reich and couldn't agree more. I support The Atlantic, The Guardian, MSW Media, The Bulwark and Meidas and those are now my main sources of news.
Still subscribed to NYT and WAPO because they're so cheap after I've cancelled a few times, but beginning to wonder if WAPO is even worth $3/mo these days. Still subscribe to Seattle Times because it's pretty much the last big local "paper" here.

Here's the point to remember about the brutal negative revisions in today's job market report: They aren't saying the labor market showed green shoots that withered. It's saying that there never were any green shoots. They were an illusion.

ELECTIONS Trump asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC PUBLISHED WED, AUG 3 2016 8:05 AM EDT UPDATED WED, AUG 3 2016 3:01 PM EDT Matthew J. Belvedere @MATT_BELVEDERE WATCH LIVE VIDEO 1:20 Trump reportedly asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC
Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert advising him why the U.S. can't use nuclear weapons, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said on the air Wednesday, citing an unnamed source who claimed he had spoken with the GOP presidential nominee. "Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can't we use them," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" program.
I will just say it out loud:
I am very concerned Trump will use a tactical nuclear weapon in his quest for a quick victory over Iran.
I am reminded of the story from 2016, when Trump reportedly asked three times in a single briefing why nuclear weapons couldnβt be used:
This is a profound continental divide. Canadians overwhelmingly view other Canadians, even those unlike them, as being good people. Americans, more than any other country, view their neighbours and fellow citizens as bad people. Anti-Americanism flourishes in the United States

Markets open way down after a totally underwhelming February trump jobs report. Oil prices continue to surge. So much winning.
