Real.
We all must make sacrifices for big discounts on backorder pulls and graded slabs, and that sometimes means 5-hour waits in sub-40 temperatures.
I'm just going to say it: #WoW's Astalor Bloodsworn is everything The Batman Who Laughs was supposed to be, but better.
If they're going to retroactively change the entire Amani lore, including what we played through in several expansions, then that's one thing; but currently, the previous lore still stands, it's just been changed in a single aspect. This needs to be addressed swiftly or it will remain deeply racist.
Okay so they don't address it at all.
So, this is intensely offensive if it is kept in its current form. The Amani have canonically r***d people. They have extracted their blood for rituals. They have eaten people. To equate their actions with indigenous justice is beyond appalling.
Perhaps I haven't gotten far enough to see if it has been addressed, but retconning the #WoW Amani origin to one where they were fighting off settler colonials instead of the previously established lore, without also retconning the SA, cannibalism, and human sacrifice seems... tone-deaf.

This 30-year-old transgender man, who canβt swim, jumped into Lake Michigan after a wind gust blew a baby in a stroller into the freezing water.
Heβs being called a hero. But now he has medical expenses, and people are donating to a fundraiser to support him.

I proposed the creation of a new, NYC-based program. I proposed we pressure Kathy Hochul, who wasn't even mentioned in the article. I proposed we do literally fucking anything other than try to match dollars with the US federal government.
But I guess that makes my NB ass a "transphobic shitlib".
But that's the topic at hand. That's what the article suggested, and that's what the replies are about.
And my entire point, literally the only thing that I'm saying, is that putting a demand on Mamdani to come up with the money or threaten the hospitals to fight Trump is an unwinnable strategy.
You're arguing this while NYC has a budget shortfall of over 12 billion dollars that they're trying to scramble to cover, so the actual amount of money you want Zohran Mamdani, specifically, to come up with is 13.6 billion dollars.
www.nyc.gov/mayors-offic...
You people are out of your minds.
You people are arguing that it is Zohran Mamdani's, and solely Zohran Mamdani's, fault that NYC is not prepared to find and spend over 1.6 billion dollars to keep trans care at major hospitals going. 1.6 because that's the federal money the hospitals will lose by standing against Trump.
Right now, NYC is in a budget deficit. The deficit is extreme enough that Mamdani is telling New Yorkers they either need to accept cuts, or put a new tax on the wealthy. New York is going to vote and decide on this. This has put all of NYC to question their own priorities going forward.
We're legitimately never going to win. The American political left is physically incapable of having a discussion that doesn't involve clawing off the faces of the people who are ostensibly on the same side, perhaps even those that have ever done far more to aid the cause. We're doomed to failure.
We're never going to win. Every time any one of us wins even a modicum of power you asinine children spend the rest of your waking moments torpedoing any chances of that person ever being able to unify a larger coalition.
"Shitlib". I'm targeted by groypers for arming trans in my area, you asshole.
You want to yell at someone who has the power to ensure federal funding?! Yell at the fucking people who can operate above the federal level! Yell at the woman who controls the AGs office of the state of New York! You are attacking your literal own in a state of frenzy like a bunch of rabid dogs!
You have no goddamn clue how politics works, you don't understand how we're going to achieve trans rights, and your only train of thought is to scream at our own allies for not immediately shouldering the entirety of our fight after they won an election.
KATHY HOCHUL IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD YELL AT.
You people have been in the replies calling me, an NB person who has been the victim of a violent assault that put them in recovery, all kinds of things - Shitlib. Anti-trans. Defeatist. Transphobic. Because I disagree that attacking the only left-wing political victor in decades is a terrible idea.
Second, "shitlib"? This is why the left is never going to win. Ever. I have not insulted a single person, attacked a single person, insinuated that anyone who has disagreed with me is an idiot or anything even remotely coarse. I disagree with the tone and proposed solution of the article. That's it.

First off, so far, in the less than two months since the man has taken office, he has not done anything to break a campaign promise. None of his campaign promises involve sending over a billion dollars to H+H to combat the withdrawal of federal funding by Trump.
www.nyc.gov/mayors-offic...
In your quest to take the most obtuse and unfair reading of my reply, you've proven you genuinely have no clue what is going on in NYC right now.
This is the third time someone has claimed that I, an NB person, don't care about the issue of having my healthcare stolen from me.
I'm really starting to hate being on Bluesky as much as I hate Twitter.
That's not how money works.
I cannot buy medicine with money I don't have unless I establish a line of credit.
New York is in trouble because the previous mayor screwed the city over intentional and they don't have credit to pay for all of its programs.
It's not about "struggle".
-solutions, but I don't even see an acknowledgement anywhere about the fact that the city will need new funding methods to pay for these programs after Adams fucked everybody over.
The article, and the comments and replies here, have placed all of the burden on Mamdani. I don't think that helps.
I completely agree that attention on this issue should come from the mayor's office, but the proposed strategies just don't seem winnable here.
Establishing a new program that takes more donations, building a city-owned trans care center, or establishing a new tax to help H+H seems to be the best-
