If I could choose if all gen ai exists or none I would prefer none. I don't think an ai image being a meme inherently makes it good or worthwhile, I'm just defending the ai meme usage I've seen and enjoyed. The level of harm involved in e.g. presidents singing karaoke together is low enough for me

The "cool I'll do that" would entail more ai memes. If someone is set out to make money or spam the market, they're not going to have heard of ai's potential from memes, they'll already know. Normalisation isn't an all or nothing thing, normalisation of memes doesnt necessitate normalisation of slop

The ai memes I've seen the joke is less what the ai made but what the prompter got it to make. E.g. the lyrics in "I Glued My Balls To My Butthole Again" were made by hand and whats funny imo is how that goes against the censor.
Also I liked it when grok was used to make fun of Elon and politicians

It's plagiarism if it's used commercially or acting like it was made from thin air. But memes do neither, an ai meme is not pretending it was hand made, usually the opposite, it's funny because it's stupid stuff ai made from the aggregate of serious stuff.

Using memes are very different because by far the largest environmental impact of ai is not in using it but in training the models, and no company is going to spend so much money training a model just for memes, there is no returns in that.

Of course majorities are never wrong, but yes, AI slop is pollution, that's what that word means, but not everything made with ai is low quality and low effort, nor is there is an obligation for everyone to pour effort into every non-commercial thing they make.

obviously, nobody likes dogshit things. A lot of people have a general dislike of ai in all forms because some forms of it threaten careers, but that doesn't mean you can gatekeep what other people enjoy personally

The goal is to find the best balance to minimize harm while maximizing fulfillment in life, to where you still sleep at night. Maybe I'm jaded, but I think there's only so many problems you can focus on

Memes are the ethical way to use AI images/music/video because it treats the technology as a toy not as the serious commercial tool that it's intended to be

Shift is better because then you can use your ring finger instead of the weak little pinky! And who needs a sprint key anyway, just have sprint always be on!

My game has a big focus on music, so I made decorative "dancers"💃 who choose random dance patterns for each body part to move when a randomly chosen instrument plays.

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't keep Linux fully supported! I didn't even get anything except for the profiler GUI showing up out of upgrading so I'm definitely gonna revert to the version before when I release

Linux has always been the second most important platform for me to release for, because I want to switch to daily driving it one day.
I still don't know what "native steam deck support" even means like why specifically steamdeck OS, that's feels like if they limited the forge to only windows 11

Does this count lol, fml I was so upset when I read this about the forge (github.com/ConfettiFX/T... which I use for my game), maybe I'll downgrade (I needed to upgrade in order to use the profiler, it was broken before the new version) 😭
