Make it stick.
Everything boils down to us being idiots. We've done everything possible to own goal ourselves.
It canβt be said enough how right Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris were. About everything.
I think this is a great argument, beautifully constructed
White paper sign taped to side of an ATM near ordering area in a downtown Chicago Italian Beef/Hot Dog/Pizza joint. It reads: βAttention customers. Please _do not_ hang bags or purse on back of chairs. It will be stolen. [name of business , not wholly legible] is not responsible.β
This warning sign seems kind of fatalistic. βWill be stolenβ? Dang.
Slipping folks Mickeys on their opening night! Way to get ahead of the competition.

This has nothing to do with the specific content here, but Polymarket adopting the language of news, here with BREAKING, and with Texas election results earlier this week, is BAD. Polymarket is not and will never be a news org or break news. It's a betting app. It's Draft Kings for sociopaths.

Also: a lot of people are about to find out the hard way, on a very rainy day, that this megachurch hasn't maneuvered its substantial political influence to get any sidewalks installed on the blocks around it during the 20 years that they've been worshiping in their current custom-built arena.

No sparrows on my birdfeeder, which is usually mobbed. Thought it might be the coming storm, but then the local Cooper's Hawk swooped by.
One overlooked upside of how long Schakowsky and Durbin were in office was that we didn't have to endure endless political commercials on TV and radio, and our mailboxes weren't jammed with slick circulars headed straight to the recycling bin.
2 years from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, and 20 years from now, Americans are going to be subject to attacks here and all over the world because of what Trump is doing right now.

ELECTIONS Trump asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC PUBLISHED WED, AUG 3 2016 8:05 AM EDT UPDATED WED, AUG 3 2016 3:01 PM EDT Matthew J. Belvedere @MATT_BELVEDERE WATCH LIVE VIDEO 1:20 Trump reportedly asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC
Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert advising him why the U.S. can't use nuclear weapons, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said on the air Wednesday, citing an unnamed source who claimed he had spoken with the GOP presidential nominee. "Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can't we use them," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" program.
I will just say it out loud:
I am very concerned Trump will use a tactical nuclear weapon in his quest for a quick victory over Iran.
I am reminded of the story from 2016, when Trump reportedly asked three times in a single briefing why nuclear weapons couldnβt be used:
Sadly, no!
A digitally drawn homage to the George Herriman comic strip Krazy Kat. Starting left of frame we see yellow Ignatz Mouse having just thrown a brick which is sailing across the center of the frame and in another instant will bash the oblivious Krazy Kat (a blue bipedal cartoon cat wearing a red scarf) in the back of the head as he walks innocently to the right. Everything is drawn in rough black pen and colored in pale washes. A speech bubble from Ignatz reads βMaybe it willβ¦β, the word βHappenβ appears in the whooshing trail of the sailing brick, and a final speech bubble belonging to the Kat reads ββ¦Todayβ.
This is a beautiful portrait from the inimitable @ricksteves.bsky.social of the people who are suffering in Iran, both under its theocracy and from our nation's warmongering.
Fascinating. . .
