February was…well it’s over now

In the city, bus and bike lanes are delivery driver double park lanes and all traffic signs and lights are just whimsical suggestions, so I wish you luck.
Don’t worry, I do the same thing for you all the time at restaurants, on the T, in public restrooms, and none of them have called you yet.
There was some similar nonsense like that around here, but that one definitely takes award for how to technically kinda follow the law AND show open contempt for your neighbors and physics.
We went last night and it was apocalyptic.
Data visualization win for CBS Austin. Hope they do a Ted Cruz ice storm tracker.
The Consult’s (former FBI profilers’) professional take on Israel Keyes: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
‘The Devil’s Right Hand Man’ by Stephen Michaud and Debbie Price
If you want a comprehensive, well-written book on the skid mark that is Charles Browne, this isn’t it. I did not like the way this book was written, and I was left mostly disappointed.
‘Behold the Monster’ by Jillian Lauren
Samuel Little, on the other hand, was a gigantic resentful turd. This book is gripping, and her interviews with Little are informative and nauseating. His exploitation of America’s racism and attitude towards sex workers is infuriating.
‘The Phantom Killer’ by James Presley
The real story behind the events in the cult movie (that I love) ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown.’ The movie is largely fiction, and the real story is fascinating. Turns out they knew who the killer was, and—no surprise—he was just a resentful little turd.
‘American Predator’ by Maureen Callahan
Good storytelling, great research, laughably absurd speculations and conclusions. Keyes was not the popcorn movie villain she (or the editors?) wanted him to be.
For an excellent breakdown of Keyes, I recommend the The Consult podcast episodes on him.
I’m on jury duty, so here are some reviews of true crime books I have read recently:
Started calling myself “Eye-phoid Carey”
This week:
Tim got diagnosed with walking pneumonia.
I got pink eye.
Spike had surgery to remove a lump from his butt.
I love this year.
That’s our wedding he’s talking about!
We got fed up with social media and decided to go back to blogging. Sadly all the old blogging platforms are built to monetize everything and are no longer really free, so I went back to Tumblr. Link in the bio. I will post here when we add something to it.
