Screenshot shows the splash page for Josh Renaud's old personal website circa 2002.
I started my first personal homepage ("GrossWorld") with Angelfire in 1998-99. After a couple years, I moved my website to joshrenaud.com, and I changed my Angelfire site to (mostly) just a redirect. But I never killed it, and kept it online the past couple decades.
Screenshot of Lycos homepage shows the following message: "To our users of Angelfire and Tripod. We apologize for the service interruptions. Unfortunately we will be shutting down in the next 30 days. Please move your hosting to another host as soon as possible."
Pour one out for Angelfire.

a 3x3 grid of thumbnail images shows blocky images, often composed of typographical symbols, depicting animals, people, a graffiti tag, a tea service and a talking class of frothy beer. (As one does.)
Mistigram: aside from some computer music, nearly everything in the new, unthemed MIST0226 artpack that just dropped is some form or another of #textart and #textmode art - here is a sampling of specimens of #ASCIIart, #ANSIart, #ATASCII, #PETSCII and #ShiftJIS contained therein.
Just hit send on my last-minute submission.
Check it out at 16colo.rs/pack/mist0226/
People will tell you now the Amiga won the 16-bit generation. But the Amiga launch was a disaster and the one you were supposed to buy didn't arrive for 2 years.
Here's what really happened.

Important detail about transparency in @blytheb.bsky.social's story about St. Louis Public Schools today: "... the district hasn't posted a monthly check register since September."

Credit where it's due — the City of St. Louis fulfilled our annual request for pay data in _17_ days this year. That is a significantly faster than the 100-150 days they've taken the previous few years.
However, they excluded SLMPD from the data, citing the transfer to state control.
Good morning from the St. Louis Riverfront Trail. Lots of work being done on the river, the rails and the scrapyards.
Ran into the turkey family again for the first time in several months. They have really grown up since last year.
Just a little further down, I noticed two figures in the mist: probably coyotes. Unfortunately I didn't stop and get the camera rolling until they had crossed the trail and run close to the tree line.

St. Louis Police Department leaders and police union officials have been hashing out a new rulebook for officer conduct after the state takeover of the department.
The number of times I would be the only person at a government meeting, or dragging my ass out to cover an event or crime scene after hours for fuck all pay. Local reporters and news outlets are a public service and should be treated as such
Another rough technical outing from AppleTV with the City SC broadcast ... a lot of weird microphone sounds, and then the whole thing just cut out during the postgame show.
Visually-impaired students at Missouri School for the Blind competed to qualify for spot at the national Braille championship in Los Angeles.

One worthy cause is the Ronald Wade journalism scholarship for minority students, via the St. Louis Press Club. Ron Wade was the Sunday editor at the P-D for many years, and I worked closely with him on the night desk.

Just got rickrolled at Missouri School for the Blind
Biked to work again today, and saw there has been some cleanup along the Riverfront Trail since last week.
But many tire piles and dump piles remain — though some may be on private land.

We can't let large language models take the em dash from us — it's too important
We liked Cisco Heat, too. It was all we had and all we knew!
I hope you’ll get to Lotus III. That’s the one I grew up playing with my brothers.
Spent several hours last night rewriting and optimising the 68k code that draws the rev counter on the #AtariST version of Lotus 2 to use the Blitter chip instead.
These are the lengths that us ST folks are willing to go to in order to compete with that other machine. 😉
LOS ANGELES — Robert Duvall, the Oscar-winning actor of matchless versatility and dedication whose classic roles included the intrepid consigliere of the first two "Godfather" movies and the over-the-hill country music singer in "Tender Mercies," has died at age 95.
I see people are swarming about @benjedwards.com with the long knives. If you're out to push him to the gallows, take me along too to stand beside him.
Overworked, sick with Covid, Benj fucked up a workflow. I've read hundreds of articles and writings from him, and been featured in many.
