3/ Mary Irwin-Gibson, outgoing bishop, had to walk back her claim that "no one had made a formal safe church complaint against the candidates" once it was publicly refuted, while outgoing chancellor David Eramian belittled the committees' substantive safe church concerns as "hearsay and rumour."
2/ According to the Living Church article, the search committee tasked with selecting candidates had serious concerns about 3 candidates, one of whom they unanimously agreed to ask to decline nomination, but diocesan authorities forced them to keep that name on the ballot.
