They gave away “May the Force be with You” buttons (and 16-page full color programs!) at the door, it’s wild to recall there was a time when nobody knew what The Force was. I wish I had video of me trying to explain it to the neighborhood kids and surely sounding like a particularly dim hippie

I don’t recall your name either but I’d bet we were at some of the same shows. The one where I first met Aadam was at Ralph Records’ Rhythm & Noise / Eugene Chadbourne / Snakefinger show at the Vic (aka Chubland) in 1986

I was one of the few people who saw Idiocracy in a theater. Zero ad budget, not even a poster, even the theater employees hadn’t heard of it

I saw Star Wars at the first screening on opening day. I was 12 years old my mind was 🤯

This kind of buttercream reminds me of the junk mail circulars that show up in the mail every other day. A whole chain of people from designers to printers to postal workers participated in a sequence that ends with me taking the thing out of mailbox and depositing it directly into the trash unread

Seeing Mavis from five feet away as she played to a dozen people on Fitzgerald’s back porch before her career was revived was a jaw-dropper. I never got to see Waters play but I filmed an interview with her, a wonderful vulnerable soul
