I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

There’s always leakage. People do things for reasons that make sense to them. The drive will be there. & a prof teaching fear is a violation of stewardship. Theres an ethical difference between using shame to stop a peer from cutting a line & a teacher shaming a class for low homework turn-in.
My reading sums up that you can shame people *out* of some antisocial behaviors that aren’t compulsive, but you cannot shame anyone *in* to much at all. Learning/creativity require brain states that are not compatible with shame.

No, it would not be ruined. Excessive friction while wet might cause superficial felting on wool coating, but high heat is required to shrink it to the point of unwearability. If he hung it close to a fire or on a radiator it’s conceivable that could damage it.

At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

Sure would be nice. It would renew my hope. He’s been hammered these last few weeks with abuse. I understand why he’d want to withdraw from politics full stop. I worry about what that teaches. If we ever want abuse as a tactic to stop it can’t work for them. If it does, it will get worse.
