Harper did a fantastic job.

Everything I care about was target of a day one EO: #civilrights #equity #transrights #environmentaljustice etc. Policy lawyer, ex-journo/NP exec fueled by fierce love&lighthearted shit-talking. Finding solidarity with my inner child. Views mine, all mine!
Harper did a fantastic job.
NEW: The White House confirmed that Trump is pushing congressional lawmakers to make additions to the SAVE America Act specifically targeting transgender people β a move that appears to be weaponizing culture-war issues to pressure Republicans to back the suppressive bill.

USAIDβs Emergency Food Security Program spent $4 billion in FY2022 to feed 114 million people in 55 countries. We just blew that much money in four days of this war.

I've launched a publication with @palfest.bsky.social called "The Key." I am so excited to share this first issue with you: www.thekeymagazine.com
Another $5.6 million from ICE to Palantir, in part for its continued work on ELITE (Enhanced Leads Identification & Targeting for Enforcement), which we revealed in January to be the Palantir tool ICE uses to find neighborhoods to raid

This article has been over 2.5 months in the making. In that time, the Indiana government has continued building its list, dodged my direct questions, and even denied my public records request for a policy that clearly exists. Simply put, itβs clear that the state does not want this to get out.
An investigation from Transitics has discovered something highly alarming: Indiana AG Todd Rokita has been making a list of trans people. Following in Kansasβ footsteps, heβs preparing to revoke trans peopleβs documents by declaring them βfalsified records.β

The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.
Prepandemic respiratory illness tied to increased risk of long COVID
Roughly 6 in 10 people report eventually recovering from the condition, but millions remain affected.

i really don't think Hegseth realized the diplomatic consequences of that strike
Such an important point!!! They also never called for bans on my off-label medical care for long COVID.
My sincere question: who do we report this to? The state Supreme Court? The clerk? The bar? I am a lawyer and I am PISSED.
I haven't said anything about this before, bc in the grand scheme of horrors this only rates as an inconvenience, but since others are experiencing it:
Just three days after CBP arrested me for filming them outside Broadview on 9/27, my TSA Pre & Global Entry were suspendedβand so were my wife's.

To underscore just how unusual it is for a blue state like Massachusetts to be formally partnering with ICE, note that a majority of D-trifecta states now ban 287(g) agreements with ICE. Among those that do not, Massachusetts is the only one with a state-level 287(g).
boltsmag.org/maryland-new...
As we reported in @boltsmag.org last month, Massachusetts is the *only* state with a Democratic governor + legislature that maintains a state-level 287(g) agreement with ICE. As part of this agreement, Massachusetts often funnels people exiting prison into deportation.

The Massachusetts Department of Correction has been fighting me for months, trying to withhold data about its collaboration with ICE.
Yesterday, I won that fight, and obtained records showing that the state has transferred more than 2,000 people into ICE custody since 2009.
A quick thread:
This is absolutely shameful.
Once again, Congress has shown it would rather protect its own than protect the public. The latest casualty? A bill that would have exposed sexual misconduct by members of Congress, giving survivors a fighting chance and the public a right to know.
thank you to Sharon for brining to my attention that since at least 2012, Marco Rubio has confused Chiang Kai-shek for something he imagined:

Oh thank you sorry just saw this after I posted my ask!
Wish I could read the text but the white on pink is very painful for my eyes & brain β any chance you plan to offer this to a publication that might publish for a progressive audience and has budget to make it accessible? (Truthout, the Nation, etc) Dying to know what happened!
