I've also got the problem where I watch a mental film reel with captions and have to figure out how much to transcribe, not helped by college coursework in playwriting and scriptwriting and multiple Shakespeare and other-language drama classes where the dialogue was all you had... 😅

Authors have been told "don't do that, it makes your book look too intimidating and pretentious, you're not JRR Tolkien," but I'm out here waving the #teamcheatsheet flag as someone who's snuck character lists and vocabulary lists and bonus recipes into the back matter...

Today I'm making Turkish Delight. I'm making a coconut one to celebrate @lynnstrong.bsky.social 's upcoming #cozyfantasy Chai and Charmcraft. So far it seems to be working, but I'm crossing my fingers as it cools. I don't know if I got the consistency right, but it at least tastes good!

Tastes good is always goal number 1! And if it sets up enough to pick up with fingers, you have close enough to Turkish Delight; if it doesn't set up you have some species of delicious sauce to apply to something like shortbread? :D (Let me know how it turns out!)

I really wish I could believe you? But every other instance of "let me connect you with a book club" I've encountered has turned into "for the low low price of $$$$." I can't afford to pay someone for book promotion when I'm still trying to break even.

Is there a cost? If not, why not use the ARCs?
