Often the books are so much better than the tv shows - often the tv shows or films of some of my favourite books are meh!

Yes that was very sad. I’ve heard it’s best maybe not to go with Netflix because of their one season and cancel approach. It was a great series as was the babysitters club.

Will Dobson’s new book sounds very cinematic - The fortress of lost memories. Dream Hunters by Nazima Pathan.

Land of the Last Wildcat by Lui Sit would be great.

I’d like to see Llama Out Loud adapted - a taking llama, yes please. I’d also like to see Montgomery Bon Bon adapted - a kid wearing a fake tash solving crimes sounds good to me.

Of course, all authors would like their own books adapted as tv shows and films. I had a couple of talks with interested production companies for Danny Chung but there’s very little support for East and Southeast Asians on TV in this country. Maybe the recent Bridgerton will help but I doubt it.

There is already a BBC kids show I think called Spirit Warriors which was written by Jo Ho (it started Jessica Henwick and I think Benedict Wong). But maybe it’s fine to have two shows with the same name.

What does reading for pleasure mean for teenagers today? How can secondary schools (re)ignite engagement - especially for boys?

Haha well most authors will talk about their own books during Word Book Day week but I do have a slide to share with kids about some of my favourite recent books like I’ve Cream Boy or I am Wolf.

I woke up at 4am today...boo. But I did find out that my pal Dean Atta has won a BAFTA for Two Black Boys in Paradise! Not too shabby!

Thanks to the wonderful @WaterstonesLiverpool who hosted a special Nate Yu's Blast From the Past lantern and riddle workshop! They have lots of signed copies available to purchase. It's a perfect book for Chinese New Year as well as the Tiger Warrior book 1 and 3. I also met a local author, Ivy Lin!
