Love all the “I got an EV” posts. Real quick: does anything else you buy require transportation or plastics or raw material inputs

A walking securities violation. Claiming to be revolutionizing autonomy while shipping fundamentally unsafe driving tech that’s more dangerous than humans and demoing the remote operated servant is pretty bold.

Yeah we elevated the dumbest people we could find to be the primary source of commentary for huge numbers of people and then we got dumb outcomes and somehow none of them understood that would happen

This is why the discourse has been focused on prototyping in code, and then shipping the prototype. But no amount of "MVPs" add up to a mature product. No amount of bad code adds up to good code.

Fighting this tendency means making artifacts that resist shipping: non-code sources of truth.

Do you think [executive] had “growth mindset”?

Yes, of course!

Do you think they effectively utilized “growth mindset” by laying off 10% of the company and implementing an ever-present surveillance regime to monitor exactly what tools those who remain are using?

Yes. “You didn’t expend effort to create this, but now I have to expend effort to process and respond to it” is a poor dynamic for trust between colleagues. Is there any research on the correlation between high trust environments and organizational success?

I have “like Peter Pan, not Wile E Coyote” written on my whiteboard forever.

We fly when we’re ready to, out of love and imagination, when it’s necessary to get us where we’re going. If we try to brute force it with tools not fit for purpose, out of greed and/or malice, we will destroy ourselves.

Google just announced that Gemini will soon be able to take care of some multi-step tasks on your phone, like ordering food or hailing a car, starting first with the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the just-announced Samsung Galaxy S26 phones. It all sounds a bit like features Apple announced for Siri way back at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference — before Apple delayed those planned features in March 2025 and which still aren’t released

Excerpt from article, reading: Second, stop treating usage as a proxy for buy-in.

High usage is often assumed to mean high adoption. In reality, usage can just as easily reflect self-protective compliance rather than genuine engagement. Our data shows that employees experiencing higher AI angst often use AI more broadly but may also feel greater internal resistance that can get in the way of real innovation. Without understanding the emotional context behind usage, leaders risk optimizing for activity rather than impact. Adoption metrics must be paired with signals of angst, psychological safety, and openness to experimentation to distinguish genuine engagement from calculated participation.

This is such a problem for PMs. The products extremely do not have product market fit despite rampant use. This is a terrible trap, because this growth is wildly expensive but not durable. Think Wile E Coyote.
