A table comparing the responses to the CSO's Irish Health Survey from 2019 and 2024. There are a number of questions listing the prevalence of medical conditions, e.g. the prevalence of diabetes went from 3% in 2019 to 4.9% in 2024, an increase of 63.3%. High blood pressure went from 11% in 2019 to 18.6% in 2024, and increase of 69.1%. The percentage of people who were limited, but not severely, in everyday activities due to a health problem went from 13% in 2019 to 27.5% in 2024, a 111.5% increase.
I've taken a look at the Central Statistics Office's Irish Health Survey report, released in recent weeks, and compared it to the previous snapshot health survey from 2019. It makes for fairly grim reading. (Links & notes in next post.) 1/3
