Watching Harry Styles dicking around with a modular synth on his Netflix special and realising half the acts I listen to are a lot cooler than they were this time last week.

Currently have this on and it really is very good indeed.
This is AWFUL. If you have any spare ยฃ, this poor lass is going through a dreadful time.
Goes without saying butโฆ
Thanks to everyone that made it a great week of release. Humbly appreciated.
Who knows? If customs hadnโt kept the LPs for three weeks we may have troubled the physicals chart ๐
OK listen not even NEAR to unpacking what happened last weekend, but here's a brain dump and, yes, another.... ....mmmmmmmanifesto. ๐ฅณ Please give it a read, share, all the rest. Get involved. joemuggs.substack.com/p/the-100000...
๐จ DIY Community Culture People ๐จ
A mate has started an open source directory aiming to be a collection of amazing spaces, places, and people doing things with and for the culture. This will be a resource to help people find communities and spaces that are doing good.
Please share far and wide!
They need to update with the Liverpool one I didn't know existed until last week!
Rough Trade?
Welcome to the Garyneum, the 13 day period between the birthdays of Gary Numan and Gary Oldman.
More importantly up in the People's Republic today there's a day of celebration and protest through music, fundraising and community radio happening all day on Vibrations Radio. All kicking off at 11.30. It's going to be great, so if you're around make sure to tune in.
Electronic music is a genre that was started and shaped by women, so on International Women's Day, here are some Bandcamp recommendations for women making some of the best electronic music you can get today. ๐งต
The night ended when the venue upstairs closed after a stabbing. We didn't pay venue hire because we brought in so many punters so we couldn't afford to take a punt on a new venue on civil service admin wages. And that was it. But for a little while we had the best fun in a little basement in town.
It was a really fun little night. The only thing we said to guest DJs was they didn't need to play their "set" just play their favourite records -ouse DJs doing hip-hop, reggae DJs bringing their house and disco sets. All sorts. No genres ever listed because we didn't know what anyone would bring.
I don't have a point here, just idle reminisce. There was a whole bunch of things happening in the city in hidden corners back then. It was great. This was also the first flyer @dianearodgers.bsky.social sprinkled her magic on before doing all our artwork, now all sadly lost to the digital ether.
(I'm not posting to this to pretend I'm a better feminist or whatever, we were just throwing parties and after years of techno/dnb nights with moody men peering at dubplates we just wanted to have fun with all our friends, and Sheffield had a load of brilliant female DJs who rarely got decent slots)
It was the best party we ever hosted. Absolutely rammed from doors till close. The bar staff were handing out free drinks to all the DJs, the security at the venue above, who also covered our basement, kept coming down for a smoke and side of the dancefloor boogie. So much fun.
A pink flyer with a 1950s housewife kneeling at a pair of Technics with the words "a woman's place is in da house". I wanted to write "the" not "da" but was overruled by people who said it made it clearer the viewer needed to look at the flyer properly and not glimpse at something sexist.
The back of the flyer with the lineup of Loose Cannons presents a night of all-female DJ action. Featuring Amy (4wd) KTMaxx (Rhythm Method) Law (The Shop) Lil Sisjah (Riddimption) Miss Chief (Trouble) Saturday 4th June, probably 2002, Ten o'clock till bedtime. Only ยฃ3in. The Loose Cannons and 4wd logos are at the bottom as this whole night couldn't have been done with Law (Laura) at 4wd being the best person around
Seeing all the IWD female DJ lineups has reminded me of a night me and some mates put in Sheffield probably 23yrs ago now. Our night was never male-only DJs and no female guest ever went on first. Except for this night. We were lucky to have an amazing promoter & DJ, Law, to kick this into shape.
Thanks for tuning in! Will keep my eye out for the sun ๐
The real world is massively overrated. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday ๐
The Fuck Buttons lads definitely had curling on in the studio when they made Olympians
Bobbie the bordoodle on Hove beach facing the sea, Brighton behind him in the distance and a beautiful blue sky above him.
We had sun on Monday and it's been solid grey ever since. Stuck a load of washing out to dry yesterday afternoon and it still hadn't dried by 10pm. Though I think I'm still more jealous of the washer than the weather right now.
I did notice that. Some kind of witchcraft. All you need now is two consecutive hours of sunshine to get a good dry on.
That is a pretty sexy looking bit of kit though. Strong dial work.
Just imagining a parade of Belfast mammies lining up with pushchairs at your front door.
I clearly missed this important development and I love a bit of appliance chat. Tell me more about the washing machine please.
It's a decent pottering soundtrack.

That'll do too. Just a fixed point. The fractions of a split second that are being analysed are insane.
Quite unexpectedly the new series of Scrubs is just like watching Scrubs.
It would be easy to just base it on feet which is then a simple line across rather than spending hours looking at body shapes. And under that rule the Wrexham goal would still have been offside.
