A lot of people say AI isn't very good for the world and its outputs are routinely unreliable, but these haters fail to see how it's revolutionizing how we incinerate schoolchildren.

Judge Goodwin: "An anonymous government is no government at all. It cannot be held accountable. A masked agent freely uses force without justifying his actions, and the public cannot name him to challenge his conduct. A regime of secret policing has no place in our society."
Incredible opinion. It holds that the common ICE tactic of jumping out of an unidentified rental vehicle and seizing suspected noncitizens while masked violates the Fourth Amendment because the *manner* of the seizure is incompatible with a free society governed by the rule of law.
Unhinged rant even by Trump standards
This story is guaranteed to trigger an βOh, THIS is the Bad Place!β moment
Holy shit. The prosecutor who just resigned from the D Minn in revolt against orders to investigate Renee Good after her murder is local counsel for Don Lemon now in Minnesota. Wow.
Reminder to judges that you can order the clerk or parties to send a copy of your ruling about attorneysβ unethical conduct to the disciplinary committees of the bars where theyβre admitted.
Absolute immunity doesnβt shield prosecutors from professional discipline.

Cc @jonathanslaght.com β great story! Thanks for all your work to restore this owl species I just learned about from my middle schooler.
For Superb Owl day, my eldest told me about the massive Blakistonβs Fish Owl.
βThe creature seemed almost too big and too comical to be a real bird, as if someone had hastily glued fistfuls of feathers to a small bear, then propped the dazed beast in the tree.β

Lost of headlines on the arrest of Don Lemon: CBS News: Former CNN anchor Don Lemon taken into custody after protest at Minnesota church service The Washington Post: Don Lemkn arrested by federam officials in connection with church protest NBC News: Don Lemon arrested by federal authorities after protest at minnesota church service AP News: Journalist Don Lemon has beeb arrested after he covered a Minnesota church protest The New York Times: Federal Agents Arrest Don Lemon Over Minnesota Church Protest
Framing matters and news outlet word choices shape what people believe
Folks increasingly read headlines and nothing else. Implying that a prominent Black journalist was arrested for protesting is irresponsible at best
Only AP used "Covered"
It's just 1 word, but it completely changes the story

Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, was also arrested by federal agents this morning
I was sent this video of agents at her door:
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by nameβciting facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

I had to report that to three state bar associations.
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
