Two scrolls of your mouse feels like some impressive self control to me. So much stupidity and cruelty.

As usual, @christienold.bsky.social gets me thinking. This short thread is a great reminder to me to be more thoughtful about the environment I'm creating and my expectations.
That's amazing. I hope a lot of people turn out to hear you because that's such an important discussion and you will be fabulous leading it.
I am so jealous. I just ate a delicious dinner and thought I was completely full until I saw this.
Totally get that. I thought it was a brilliant way to deal with this dilemma. Because I also know that if I have invested money, even just a few bucks, I am more likely to follow through than if it was free. Sigh. Human nature?
Yes, this. Generation after generation. (I'll probably do exactly the same thing...)
Mount Vernon hosts educator nights. They charge ($25, I think) for you to register. If you show, you get that money refunded. They used to do free nights but people registered and didn't show. This was their solution.
I hope y'all have a blast visiting schools and that she finds places she can see herself being a part of.
Too tired and too angry.
And if they do believe it is true, what do they have for their base now? If everything they have told people to be upset about has now been solved, what's left to bring them together?
Anne Holton is a part of that event too? That is interesting.
I feel that way when it's half that length if it's this president. If I can handle it, I'll read the transcript. I can't listen to that man.
I donβt disagree with this. I also think we have to speak out against it because otherwise weβre saying itβs okay. They may not be thoughtful enough to do better but that doesnβt mean we have to be okay with it.
I'm so sorry. Plenty of people don't have the self control no matter what. Sending you love.
She's not wrong. Glad I took a few minutes of my lunch to enjoy this.
I'm often sad to not be a coffee drinker because coffee is so often what is available at things (especially teacher PD) but sometimes I am grateful.
That is impressive self control to be down to 3!
It is time for the next generation of leaders and politicians. NYC, NJ, and VA have proven that so clearly. We need them.
Weβre happiest when weβre in the front row! And Iβm grateful to Doug for adding one more name to my decades-long collection! Iβve missed many chances for signatures over the years so extra glad to not have missed him today.
It's impossible for me to look at this diagram and not have slave ship design jump to mind.
I love roundabouts but Americans donβt do them well either.
If I were independently wealthy Iβd spend some on PSAs about why and how to use turn signals.
It seems small. But good point.
Doubtful. Iβd prefer it, personally, though.
Thank you for that reminder! One of my fourth graders who is from Mongolia brought me a lovely gift for Lunar New Year. There is so much good.
That too! Once youβre already in a turn lane, your turn signal is not doing its job. Itβs supposed to tell me that you are getting into a turn lane!
Yes! That is so irritating.
I am so grateful to @samjshah.bsky.social for continuing to post on One Good Thing. It helps me think about my one good thing each day, even if I am not managing to write about it!
That is something I will keep in mind. Then I'll just rage at rich tech bros, but I do that all the time anyway.
The world is a dumpster fire and there are so many things to be worked up about and Iβm still able to feel unreasonable rage at so many driverβs inabilities to handle a four way stop.
