Before she got married my mom’s middle name was Aleine (or something like that, pronounced uh-leen). My grandfather didn’t know how to spell it so he just sort of guessed on the birth certificate. Pretty sure she was aware of the spelling though.
I’m picturing God sort of like the queen in Bridgerton. She love the gossip and drama of two beings falling in love when the rest of “society” wouldn’t approve. She didn’t set it up herself but she also doesn’t interfere.
I think they had to meet with someone but don’t think much was asked for. Maybe because it was elementary school. I think my sister-in-law was able to access the curriculum from the county and supplemented from there.
My nephew (diagnosed ADHD but pretty obviously AuHD) was homeschooled from third to fifth grade after a few year of virtual school due to COVID. He’s in sixth grade now and quickly moved to honors classes. But pretty sure they just had to prove he was doing some schooling and very little else.
So sorry. I’ve only ever broken one tooth and never had any cavities. But the tooth that broke actually broke twice, the first from a cookie and the second time from m&ms. I hope the dentist is nice to you and can fix you up.

It’s definitely my favorite but they used to have a spicy cheese version I loved that wasn’t too over the top. But of course I can’t find any evidence of it online now.
I’m still annoyed that they replaced the nice little triangle crackers in the cheese flavor with full on cheezits. But that doesn’t stop me from buying it.

Not sure what the law is for restaurants but more and more around here are starting to give cloth bags with takeout too.
I love living in my liberal haven. It would be better if DC had full control of our budget but the parts of MD and VA that are near by are also super liberal which is great.
I’m in DC (which I think still charges 5 cents per bag) but shop in Maryland which is different county to county. Most counties have been phasing out plastic bags for a while. The whole thing is an effort to clean up the rivers. Maryland also banned styrofoam awhile ago.
You can’t even get plastic grocery bags for five cents around me anymore. I had to actually buy bathroom size trash bags. If I forget my bags I end up paying the $1.99 for a new reusable bag because the only other option is paper. I’m definitely bad about batteries though.
I feel like maybe an edit button could work if it had a short time span. People want it for typos so maybe ability to edit for two minutes after posting, but the clock stops if anyone likes the post.
I took Uber/Lyft twice a day, three or so times a week at my last job and the drivers without the radio were my favorite because I always listened to podcasts in my headphones. The worst are the ones on the phone but you can’t tell if they’re talking to you.

I have the privilege of not driving so I never pay attention to gas prices. But definitely trying to decide if I should buy plane tickets today or risk waiting until Monday which is the day of the week they usually drop a bit.

I had a housemate who was allergic to cats and therefore didn’t like them which is somewhat justified. If he ever called them evil it would have been tongue in cheek and not serious.
