I find it absolutely delightful when the sun light makes the rain glow, and so I had to simulate this.

I'm almost happy with the way my clouds look now.
The entire water cycle is now mass-preserving. Water evaporates, condense and form clouds, then cloud starts to rain and each water droplet holds a tiny amount of water that gets added back to the ground.

Still working on atmospheric simulation for my #Godot project.
The wind is computed with a fluid simulation, and I added friction with the relief. That creates nice and plausible wind patterns.
To make the wind visible I used a particle system. What do you think?

May I ask how do you do indirect rendering with multimesh? I tried this way but could'nt find a way to compute the instances transform directly on the gpu. I had to scrap the multimesh node and use draw lists in a compositor effect to render particles directly from data in gpu buffers.

Of course. I imagine if your heightmap is stored in a texture, you just have to sample that in the process shader.

This looks awesome. I'm working on something similar, may I ask how you keep the spawning part purely on the gpu?

A bit of UI prototyping with #Godot. Theme management is a bit unintuitive at first, but very powerful once you start to get the hang out of it. Cool theme is Sprout Lands by CupNoodle on Itch. cupnooble.itch.io/sprout-lands... #gamedev

A cool technique to create a pixel-art texture for your Godot terrain
A technique for cool looking pixel-art terrains with Godot
Here is a detailed tutorial on how I apply a dynamic pixel-art texture on a terrain using Godot.
This technique comes from a game nearly 30 years old.

A still have absolutely zero gameplay features, but I have beautiful sunrises.
I implemented a custom sky shader with volumetric clouds rendering and spent an unreasonable amount of time tweaking every parameter to get some beautiful colors.
Quite happy with the result so far.

Showing off my water shader. I wanted to get a stylized and colorful render, with a retro pixel art style. I took a strong inspiration from @noio.games's style, even if I'm very far from reaching a similar quality level. Still happy with current result though. #godot #gamedev #pixelart

A screen capture of the Godot editor. A 3D terrain with a texture creating an esthetic patchwork.
This is absolutely not what was intendend, but I found this texturing issue quite classy. #godot #gamedev #patchwork

First one hurts the eyes :) Second one has nice colors but they feel a bit random and so it seems a bit unnatural. Last one is very plain but still feels very nice and minimalistic, and provides a cool background for all the growing stuff.
