This is the last one of these; revisiting a scene I painted 5 years ago today, β1st June 2020 - Bus stop by Thornes Park football pitchesβ. Iβve always liked this because of the red of the bus stop. Theyβve replaced the bent bus stop sign and there are people running in the park, but thatβs about it
New shoots!
At the time I didnβt think Iβd be recording scenes that might change. We now have a large βshedβ thatβs Tile Yard. Plants have shifted also. I might revisit some more sites Iβve previously painted and documented. Iβve never intended to document change but I guess that becomes inevitable with age.
I was at Kirkgate station last week, waiting for a train to Pontefract. Walking along the platform I was having a very strong sense of deja vu. I took a photograph as I knew that view. Then I remembered. Purely coincidentally 5 years ago to the day I painted that very same scene.
Thank you! And π¬

A wonderful find - two pieces of concrete, connected by iron reinforcing rods, draped over a branch. Iβm guessing the tree has grown up under it and carried it off the ground.
