I completely agree. Ultimately if there’s no-one we can sign who could fill his boots for the money we’ll save on his wages over the next 2/3 years, we’re probably better off keeping him.
I don’t think it’s appreciated that Karius was pretty decent in the lead-up to the final.
I’d still have Alisson over a prime Karius any day of the week. But at his best he was more than good enough to be a 2nd choice ‘keeper.
You’re right - there’s definitely more than one aspect to this. It does need to be appreciated just how complex a decision this is for our recruitment team to make.
Seems negotiations are actually positive between Liverpool and Ramy Abbas Issa but no smoke without a fire with those Mo Salah contract comments.
